3 cities in a day (part 1)

On July 5, Yalu and I planned to go to Brussels and then stop by Lille on the way back. We got to Brussels, saw a cathedral because it was very close to the train station.
Afterwards, we decided that we have to see the manakin pis since it's so famous. Because we couldn't find it on our map, we got directions from the driver of one of the tourist buses. However, along the way we got lost and saw the Grand Place which is a big plaza with these very impressive buildings surrounding it. At a certain time of the year(when we are not there), there is a flower carpet.
After wandering around a bit more, we finally found our manakin pis:
He was a lot smaller than we expected and kinda disappointing.
Afterwards we went to try to find a supermarket. But the only one we found was a Carrefour express which isn't very cheap and kinda small. As we head back, we bumped into two people trying to find their hostel. At first they were trying to speak to us in French(which is also not their native language), but resort to English as they realized that we could speak it too (took a while longer for the second person to realize that because he was busy looking up something). Anyhow, while Yalu was showing them where we are on our map, they mentioned which hostel they are staying. It just happened that it was next to the supermarket where we came from so we pointed them in the direction they have to go to.

but we didn't see what's so funny about it until we looked up:

While this seems like a nice and uneventful day, it was not. On the way to look for the supermarket, I tripped and fell while putting the chocolate Yalu and I had bought at Leonidas into my bag, causing two huge bruises on my knees. As we were to the station, it was raining so Yalu and I were running from tree to tree and trying to avoid slipping. However, she brushed by a bench which had a metal part sticking out, causing our second injury of the day.

It was then on to our second destionation: Brugge.
