This was a Saturday so I was able to meet up with two friends, Vikram and Eng Sew. L knew one of them before and came with us to lunch at Castro St in Mt. View and for bubble tea afterwards. Afterwards we headed towards Half Moon Bay (L wasn't able to come with us). The entrance to the beach we were going to was a bit difficult to find (took the wrong turn the first time, missed it the second time, and finally got it right the third time). We didn't do any swimming because the water was quite cold! As we were walking along the beach, a couple was bracing themselves for an oncoming wave. We were hit by a few of them too as we were walking around.
One of my friends has a son who came with us. He just loves to fill up the buckets of water with sand. Once it's saturated, he would flip over the bucket of wet sand. Vikram and I would then use those to make a bunch mini huts (as we had bowl shaped molds), which were demolished right before we left.
That evening I went with V to the Stanford ballroom team end-of-year banquet. There were laughs (picture show), dancing (very hard to ballroom with flip-flops on), and food (so much desserts left, esp cakes)
Day 5
V and I went for a ride down highway 1 with a stopover in Monterey for food. It was very scenic. We prob stopped every couple of minutes or so.
Vikram knew of one nice beach along the coast (most were cliffs). The problem was figuring out where it was. At one point we drove back a few miles because we thought missed it, but turns out it was a little bit further up. This beach is called Sand Dollar Beach. It's hard to miss if you don't know that it's there. The sand is gray but very fine. Unfortunately, when we got there, it was high tide so we were given large rocks instead.

On the way back we stopped to watch the sun setting into the Pacific.
