On the last weekend of July, I went camping with a few friends at Arcadia National Park. There were 15 of us, 4 cars, 4 tents, and 2 campsites. Not everyone who came were people I have met before. Right before we left on Friday, Thanh, Vincent and I went to Haymarket to shop for fruits and vegetables to eat later that night. It was kinda amazing that we managed to fit 5 people and their stuff into the car in some form or the other. We left town around 3 in the afternoon and didn't get there until 10 at night. Most of the time was lost just trying to find our campsite. Upon arrival we pitched our tent, cooked some food, and went to bed, tired from the long ride there.
The next day we woke up at 5 am planning to see the sunrise, but none of us managed to do that. By the time we got up, ate breakfast, and got ready for the day, it was already the late morning. The only trail we managed to go on the next day was Ocean View which was very easy, 4 miles round trip, and along the road. How did we manage that? By keeping climbing up and down the rocks leading to the water. At one point, we stayed quite a while submerging ourselves in the freezing but clear water.
Afterwards we went to a nearby town, Bar Harbor, where Main Street is actually the main street. The end of the street leads to a harbor with a view of the other islands.

The first thing we did when we got back to the campsite was to cook food. It took a long time but we managed to cook most of the meat (not much of the vegetables because they took much longer). We then head over to the ocean to stargaze. There were so many stars in the sky! We also saw the milky way, shooting stars, the moon rising over the horizon. By then, we weren't able to see as many stars. The previous night we had gone to stargaze too but the moon was already pretty high in the sky by the time we got there.
The sunrise that Vincent, Thanh and I managed to catch on our last day in Arcadia.
